02.05.2023I guess anti-cheat software hasnt been invented yet for any other esport
Vic Flange
02.05.2023Only way to stamp this out is for their set-ups to go through scrutineering in the same way a physical car does.
The PC is checked before the race for patches and packs, and can be accessed at anytime during the race by the judges to see what it is running.
Mr. Reese
02.05.2023Sim Racing is now learning what the biggest issue for esports has been ever since its inception in mid to late 90s. That is the reason why esports finals for any bigger league or tournament are played in a LAN setting with equipment provided and set up by the league operators. This also needs to be the case for sim racing if they wanna be taken seriously going forward.
Kevin Sobiski
02.05.2023I think the reaction of the driver when he accidentally showed the folder with the patch for grip in it was a natural "oh shit" reaction. Like when your mom finds something in your room that you shouldn't have. If that driver was actually "testing" that patch, he probably would have been like "oh yeah guys, I've been asked to do testing on this grip package, so they can get some data and figure out how to block it" or something like that. It just sucks that it's happening.

02.05.2023THE WHOLE SIM RACING SCENE IS FAKE ASS NOBODIES USING CHEATS AND HACKS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO SKILLS.. ALL TOP TIME TRIAL TIMES IN f1 2020/2021 AND 2022 ARE CHEATED TIMES.. IM A PRETTY DARN ACTUAL FAST DRIVER AND IN ALL SERVERS IN ANY GAMEMODE THERE ARE MOST OF THE TIME 2 OR 3 CHEATERS/HACKERS PRESENT, NOTE THAT THESE NOOBS CANT EVEN DRIVE FAIR WITH THEM CAUSE WHEN I TRY TO OVERTAKE THESE SKILLES NOBODIES THEY ALWAYS CRASH ON PURPOSE! f1 GAMES AND SIMS ARE DEAD.. UNTIL THE DEVS IMPLEMENT GOOD ANTICHEAT!

02.05.2023Has it ever been a good time
Pero no hay nada!?
02.05.2023and they expect us to believe? Do they think we are fools? If he had the folder open with the cheat is because he was using it! None has a folder with so sensitive information, open just because!

02.05.2023I am a software engineer and I can attest that there is no way in hell that he would need to "help them out" with the cheats. From a developers point of view, to figure out what the cheats are doing and how to combat one, a developer would need to run the cheats on their system in a development environment with a debugger that allows them to step through exactly what the cheat is altering/doing. It usually also involves disassembly of the binaries. Once exactly what the cheat is doing is identified it would be trivial for the developers to alter the game engine in such a way as to not only detect it, but ban anyone using it.

02.05.2023They should try Ricochet anti cheat!
Seems to be going great on warzone😂😂😂

30.04.2023Never mind the Grid Hack, did you see the Cheat Engine?
Arsenic
30.04.2023When someone is faster, it's always an option to think they cheat, it's normal. I reserve judgement until such time that there is actual proof. Allegations without conclusive proof are too dangerous. The manufacturers of games also have a duty to make sure that cheating is, well impossible in a perfect world, but as difficult as possible and, most of all, detectable.
Besides, whatever happened to the old motto: Never trust the client (i.e. only get the minimum amount of data from the client, i.e. control inputs and setup, everything else is calculated on the server).
Gwen Begood
30.04.2023Iracing have a big problem with the "setup academy", a p2w system.
Ryan Sprinkle
30.04.2023Well you know what they say in racing. If you're not cheating you're not trying hard enough. It's human behavior. People caught storing extra fuel in the roll cage in Nascar back in the day. Same in f1 loopholes and like Martin Brundel said in the Jeddah qualifying broadcast about old F1 teams would put down a fast lap then come in the pits fill their car up with oil and go dump it on the track. The only option is to clamp down on it.
Sam Shevels
30.04.2023People like that should be band for life
BigDuke6ixx
30.04.2023Esport sim racing is all about cheating, just like in FIA F1 where they all cheat. Money attracts cheaters.
Navi
30.04.2023I was thinking that the next (maybe) big anticheat, will come in the form of ai, so essentially the ai can detect foul play through replays and the data being written through the server, if it doesn't make sense, as in, "this car cannot perform those actions given its stats" it can detect it. but that's just an idea in my head, who knows if it could be a thing.
Jyki Gunnar
30.04.2023Honest drivers who enjoy competing in different rally games, some idiots must cheat, I think it's fucked up!
Kasul the Casual
30.04.2023Here's one thing that I know to be true in any competitive ladder:
Curated sponsored leaderboards: First ten to hundred positions are probably tampered with in one way or the other;
Curated by devs leaderboards: The first 1000 to 5000 positions are probably tampered with in one way or the other;
Open and active leaderbaords: The first 5000 to 15000 positions are probably tampered with in one way or the other;
Open and/or obsolete, abandoned, officially ignored leaderboards: The first 100.000 positions are absolute nonsense.
Basically this: Leaderboards? ROFLMAO!!
Moral Objection
30.04.2023Every E-sports category has a cheating problem. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Even in competition.

28.04.2023See it like that: Cheating is part of every sports.. in motorsport there was always a team trying to cheat a little.. so yeah.. its shit of course but its part of the game..
Tangent Plays
28.04.2023You know, I don't believe the dude saying he was helping them test for cheats at all. But I would believe if the company came out and defended him. He's just covering his ass unless they actually confirm his story.
Thomas Bedford
28.04.2023cheating is in every game its proving there cheating that's hard unless they slip up i would say about 60% of online players are cheats
Rui Marques
28.04.2023let's make it simple, 70% of the people that plays online games are cheaters the others 30% are the stupids that pays the games, and the biggest cheaters are the streamers.
Who provide the weakness to the the hackers that develop the cheats etc are the games producers, basically where is money to win online will be full of corrupts (game developers and hackers) and cheaters (streamers), that's why i don't put one cent at online games.
Paul Cole
28.04.2023It’s funny how guys that win every week, suddenly don’t and everybody must be cheating – well, how do we know he wasn’t cheating to begin with??
Cos that’s the only reason jardier is faster than me…must be cheating 😂
Robert Tinsey - VRS Satellite Racing
28.04.2023Thomas is 100% cheating. He can get on throttle so much earlier than anyone on the grid without wheel spin.
Brent Ruvio
28.04.2023This type of shit is WHY I can't ever get into sim racing eSports. These are supposed to be the "best" yet they gotta cheat to be fast.
Davy Decorps
28.04.2023Finally, simracing is 100% realistic now!
De Rekarts
28.04.2023The game has the problem, cheaters exist and the game should be dealing with them.
WOLFGANGINGE
28.04.2023What happened with lemans virtual a Jimmy what did I miss?

24.04.2023Gli esport hanno rovinato e commercializzato il simracing.
Addio
Marty Johnston
24.04.2023Makes you feel sick to think about it. Damn cheaters are the real losers, ruining the sport for everyone, the SIM racing community as well as destroying the reputation of companies.
Daniel Scott
24.04.2023Couldn't this be solved pretty easily by sending all the drivers a PC to use the game on that can record/block downloads?
Luke Wheeler
24.04.2023Mental that everyone has taken this for gospel. With all the drama, a Reddit post suddenly appears with someone claiming to know everything about the mod etc. I could have done this, and I’m not the creator of this mod. It was obvious how this bypass was made, given that other mods also use a similar method to make changes to the game. This all needs to be taken with a large handful of salt.
Nathaniel Smith
24.04.2023No shit… people hack on dead free games.

24.04.2023"My penis wasn't in her your honor, she just slipped."

24.04.2023Also, another thing, all these games started getting used for these mainstream eSports events, whilst not being ready for such limelight. I mean, as eSports grew for FPS games, so did their anti-cheat technology, which is clearly very lacking here. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of cheating scandals in other games, but at least there was some basic protection in place that at least deters participants from cheating.
Eskolol
24.04.2023Literally no point in cheating in any game. If you cheat and somehow you benefit from it and get into the big events. The more eyes you have on you the chance to get caught increases. And once you get caught at such high level you're basically forfeitting pretty much everything esports. You're gonna be blacklisted and your history is dug whatever you decide to. Let's say you switch to another whole genre of esports, you will still be remembered as the guy who cheated on a game. Your integrity is nonexistent and everything you do is questioned. Whatever career you had in esports is pretty much forfeited and its back to school buddy.
Shredd
24.04.2023That's why I quit playing FPS games (PvP). Full of cheaters. As Battlefield 4 admin I was fighting them every day, there was a cheater in nearly every match. In the end dealing with them felt like unpaid work. Selling cheats on PC is a huge business too, they have freaking 24/7 customer services. But it wasn't just old games like BF4, also Apex, Rainbow 6, PUBG and others. Ubisoft allocates massive amounts of money to fight cheating in Rainbow 6. Still they are always 1 step behind, like virus protection. LAN is the only way
Devon Martinez
24.04.2023You’re doing the Lords work
Bryce Armstrong
21.04.2023It's funny, considering that Ferrari never sued anyone when everyone with a soapbox openly claimed Schumacher cheated.
Agustin Castello
21.04.2023I once got a faster lap than Alvaro in F1 21 Australia, guess I made him start cheating lol
Bike Life
21.04.2023As I watched my kids grow up over the last 17 years I was blown away by the fact that them and anyone they know don’t look at cheating like literally every generation in history has. A thing weak people do. Now it’s just part of gaming for Gen z and there is no changing it. They are broken so all you can do is step away and wait for them to fix the mess.
Darren Murphy
21.04.2023Cheating is a huge issue in many different areas, watch the documentary Icarus about the doping scandal on the Olympics, eye-opening!
Subjektive Gaming
21.04.2023Civilization has a cheating problem. That's what.
Boss Master
21.04.2023See, in assetto corsa with content manager you can make servers with check sum so if you mod the data you get a checksum and can’t join, that what we do in all competitions that I do in drifting in assetto corsa
Bryndal Dwyre
21.04.2023This is why I stopped playing ACC. The amount of cheating that goes on in it is terrible. I'm a faily competant racer now and although I don't always get the right line but for the most part, I can achieve podium finishes but when around 5 drivers behind me are mere tenths of a second behind but the one in 1st is like 10 to 15 seconds ahead of us all, you do have to wonder.
Fabio Ballini
You can send this information to the creators of ACC and other simulators so they can take action?!? They have to know about this, it's important, because these ruin the game and everything, these people who run at a high level and use these things should be banned for life, including those who also run against amateurs… Better to come last than to make people believe you are phenomenal, you are buffoons!
johan stjern
21.04.2023This is why you can never race online in a public environment, simracing has always been filled with cheaters. Back when I was a kid and got my hands on GTR it was such a let down to find out that the fastest people were using hacks. Then same in LFS, refactor etc. The way to enjoy these games is to find friends and race in a friendly manner. A large proportion of players are sadly assholes and will never be able to restrain themselves from cheating against strangers. And NEVER involve money in online games.

21.04.2023Wait a minute. There are like, actual legit F1 sim racing teams? Wait. What is happening. I had no idea lol.
