I take a look at some more mods for wreckfest, including a fantastic 60’s style formula 1 car (that is surprisingly nice to drive) and some very historic stock cars.

30.09.2023Hey Alex, Torpedo creator here. Not sure why there was no visible damage in your gameplay, it is in-fact fully implemented with detachable components and deformation. Other mods can mess with the deformation files if they're enabled, otherwise I'm not sure why else that would be happening. Flipping it to Extreme will make it a little truer to life with wheels popping off quite easily. More detailed descriptions of the damage modes are also in the workshop description.Glad you had fun with it though, and thanks for giving it try!

18.06.2023You probably didn’t recognize the figure 8 start because you started at the back of the field. This and Hilltop figure 8 start on the oval straight.

18.06.2023The AI settings are great. My biggest issue with Wreckfest was how they pretend it's a demo derby game, but then make every single objective about having the most absolutely clean perfect race where you can only win by never getting in an accident. It has amazing physics for close racing w/ minor contact, but the AI's going out of their way to screw you over is just frustrating when the quality of racing is otherwise better than most games.

18.06.2023Great video. Wreckfest is still my favorite racing game. Can't wait to try the F1 car on the Daytona track.

18.06.2023Great mods – I reckon the likes of GPLaps might be intrigued by the Torpedo, while Eddie Soundhead would probably go for the Outlaw.
Still waiting for a Nurburgring mod, where the Broadbented One might be tempted to ask "How fast cana school bus go round the Nordschleife?"

18.06.2023No one hit my car. I just got it waxed and new wheels.

18.06.2023This handles like Art of Rally. Absolutely brilliant mod

17.06.2023444 points – still nowhere near the most powerful car. I'd quite like to see a race with the Tournament Reward Spec Bulldog aka Dragdog. Easily breaks 700 points.

17.06.2023Looks like it drives like a drift car. 😆

17.06.2023Definitely failraced the rat rod on asphalt with that overly gentlemanly driving lol. The AI throw them sideways for a reason

17.06.2023You said the last race is not realistic but somewhere in America iam pretty sure the are done something like that maybe in the 50 or 60 s😂😅 and the are doing real live figure 8 racing to this day ……. crazy 🤣

17.06.2023that car looks like a lot of fun to drive with the four wheel drifting

17.06.2023you can't trail brake in an understeery car. rotating with right gas pedal control is the way to go with these 👍

16.06.2023Vids like this always give me flashbacks to Papyrus' Grand Prix Legends. The money I spent to make that game run at a respectable frame rate…..

16.06.2023Video quality seems lower/compressed more here and in other recent uploads from various channels. Could you export your 1080p clips to 4K in order to benefit from YouTube's higher bitrate?
(it's excrubulent)
16.06.2023It's interesting that you're so averse to sliding, because depending on the car and the surface it's not always faster to drive "sensibly" as you put it. I understand it's not a style that's for everyone, but particularly in offroad driving sliding is usually a lot quicker because of how the wheels interact with loose or soft surfaces.
Also with these vintage cars they really were driven in a slidey way. In fact it was only in the last 10 or 20 years that modern WRC cars stopped sliding on tarmac, because the tyre and suspension technology had finally developed to the point that they could really use all their grip on uneven rally courses. I remember reading my grandad's old books about performance driving from the 60's and 70's, and they definitively stated that four-wheel-drifting was the fastest way to drive. Racing tyres were very much designed to drift progressively like you noticed, but you'd have a really hard time driving "grip style" with these cars.
Also my preferred line in crash canyon is the complete opposite, all the way in and usually about 30-40 degrees of drift lol. Very different styles.

16.06.2023First Formula 1 car with wings is a Lortus 49B from 1968. This car looks heavily inspired by that car.

16.06.2023"On tonight's FailRace:
"There's a mess of tyres on the first race.
"There's a mess of cars on Crash Canyon.
"And there's a mess of Bangers on an Oval."
Really liked how this came out. But…. Bangers for the final race? I thought this was all about F1 Cars from the 1960's?
ALEX!!! YOU LIED TO US!!!! (But not enough 😆)
